Krispy Kreme Doughnut Earnings: Whadya think?
Krispy Kreme announces earnings in a call Monday afternoon. Anyone want to stake a guess about their year-on-year numbers?
I think people eat a lot of doughnuts when the economy is bad. In fact, I think cheap greasy food may be the ideal countercyclical investment. The financial industry is in the tank, but take heart: the Hot Donuts light is on.

I miss the local Krispy Kreme factory store. I loved to go there to watch them make donuts then get some hot ones. The most fascinating time was when they were making filled donuts. I had always wondered how they do that. It's much simpler than I imagined it would be.

I've never understood how the donut industry could be a stock market winner. So little money involved.
