Hotka for the Latke
I had never heard of this tradition but our friend, Megan, was participating this year in The Great Latke-Hamantash Debate at Mt. Holyoke College. Arguing in favor of the latke, Megan's presentation was titled "Queer Theory and the Semiotics of Jewish Cuisine: A Post-Structuralist Argument in Defense of The Latke". It was a tour de force, and I hope the video will be available to share someday soon. In the meantime, I'll be in the kitchen preparing latkes; After Megan's performance, I am hotka for the latke!
