Frogwatch USA: learn about frogs, frog calls, the state of frogs, and more!
One of the things I love about hiking in the spring is being able to listen to the vernal pool choruses. Frogwatch USA has information about frogs in the United States and how to identify them, including images and recordings of calls. Pictured is a spring peeper, whose call might have influenced its name. Its high pitched beat provides rhythm for the frog chorus where I like to hike.

There is a frog exhibit at the Vancouver Aquarium now. Saw a great poster for it at the Skytrain station. It had a fat guy sitting on a couch eating popcorn. Around him were thousands of insects: flys, mosquitos, etc. all in the popcorn, flying and all over him. The caption read "If frogs go extinct, you'll notice."

That sounds like a cool exhibit, smckenzie23. My local aquarium did one a few years ago that I thought was fascinating. That was before I discovered the joy of vernal pool frog choruses, so I didn't pay as much attention to the frog songs as I should have.
