jessica: Some of the comments on this MacWorld article are absolutely hilarious. I, too, was wondering how many hot cakes are lost are airports, whether people unhappy with older laptops are 'losing' them while traveling, and what kind of security measures I could take to not only identify my laptop, but have some kind of signal to would-be thieves that they don't want to touch it. One aspect of airport security people forget is that the security isn't there to keep us and our things safe. It's there to monitor what goes on planes. Frequently, security personnel offer me items that don't belong to me, including purses and wallets, as I begin collecting my belongings off the conveyor belt. Maybe I should put a chain around my laptop and put spikes on the top case.

jessica: Another look at the problem indicates the numbers might be a bit incorrect. I guess not that many hot cakes go missing at airports.
