Saluting Kitty Hawk
Children salute the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk as the ship enters Naval Station Pearl Harbor Kitty Hawk is making a port visit to Pearl Harbor before taking part in exercise Rim of the Pacific 2008 off Hawaii this month with units from Australia, Chile, Japan, the Netherlands, Peru, South Korea, Singapore and the United Kingdom Taking part are 35 ships, 6 submarines, more than 150 aircraft, and 20,000 Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Soldiers and Coast Guardsmen This will be the last exercise for Kitty Hawk before returning to the U.S mainland for decommissioning in early 2009.  Photographer: Chief Petty Officer Don Bray, Navy Visual News Service
