$12k in damages from a stereo install? ouch.
I've always done my own car stereo work, and stories like this make me glad I do/did. A fellow goes to Circuit City, gives them almost $3200 for a new stereo in an 800-mile car, and comes out with a vehicle his Honda dealer claims is unsafe to drive and will cost $12k to fix. Ouch. Of course, the concept of spending $3200 for a car stereo is a bit beyond me...

I have a similar system in my truck. I hope mine is in there properly becasue I don;t know a whole lot about it.
